This three-story, new construction home in Ocean City, New Jersey was designed for a high-energy, lively young family making the move to the Jersey Shore full-time. With two active boys, ages five and seven, and a beloved family dog, the home needed to be as durable as it was beautiful. An elevator connects all levels, allowing the home to function effortlessly for daily family life while also supporting relaxed coastal entertaining.

From the beginning, the goal was to create an upscale yet approachable coastal aesthetic—one that felt elevated and thoughtfully designed, but never too precious to enjoy. I fully furnished the home from the ground up, selecting flooring, window treatments, custom furnishings, and accessories, and carefully planning each furniture layout to maximize flow, comfort, and livability. High-performance fabrics were used throughout the home, ensuring the spaces could stand up to wet bathing suits, sandy feet, energetic kids, and everyday wear without sacrificing style.

Custom details bring warmth and character to the main living spaces, including a built-in banquette and a one-of-a-kind live-edge dining table that anchors the heart of the home. These handcrafted elements add texture and craftsmanship while keeping the overall feel relaxed and inviting.

The family loves to host, so guest accommodations were an important part of the design. Two guest bedrooms were thoughtfully planned for out-of-town family visits, giving us the opportunity to lean into bolder, more playful design moments. Coordinated bedding, layered textures, and expressive wallpaper selections create spaces that feel special and memorable, while still fitting seamlessly into the overall coastal palette.

Bathrooms throughout the home were treated as moments of personality, with colorful, coastal-inspired wallpapers that bring charm and energy to each space. Outside, the in-ground pool area was designed as an extension of the home’s living space, furnished with durable outdoor fabrics, chaise lounges, and a fire pit—perfect for long summer days, casual gatherings, and evenings by the water.

Collaborating with this energetic, engaged family was truly a joy. The result is a refined coastal home that balances elevated design with real-life functionality—beautifully tailored for modern, full-time Shore living.
